Another Summer Winding Down…

Fueling for the Fall Season

FUEL for athletes needs to be affordable, convenient, taste GREAT, and if it’s BETTER for the PLANET- its a HUGE win.

Protein needs vary by age, gender and activity level. According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and American College of Sports Medicine, athletes should aim for 1.2 to 2.0 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day (which is 60 to 100 percent  of the recommended daily allowance for non-athletes).

Getting Back to a Busy Schedule

Back to school and fall festivities are loads of fun! Before we know it, pumpkin patches and apple orchards will be open again, campfires will be filled with laughter and friendship on those brisk fall nights, and the smell of apple cider will be hanging in the air. It will be lovely!

But one reminder - don’t forget to think about you. Especially with the start of busy fall sport and club schedules, it is super easy to get pulled back into the picking up and dropping off routines, the running from practice to practice, and the spending weekends driving to competition after competition. There is so much fun amongst the chaos, but noticing when to stop, take a breath, and remember your “why” is incredibly important when the going gets tough. You are worthy of rest, relaxation, and all of the space that you need to take as you recharge and find your balance again when the schedules get more and more full.

As always, thank you all for taking the time to engage with this month’s content! Take care and be well.
