The Pursuit to Spread WELLness.

What I do as a WELLness Coach

As a COACH working with female athletes and active women, my job is to support them in optimizing every aspect of their training and lifestyle. By leveraging the latest research and data tailored specifically to the female experience, I strive to empower women to achieve their goals while prioritizing their long-term health and well-being.

  • Optimizing Training: Through personalized training programs, I help women maximize their athletic potential while considering their unique physiology and training needs. By incorporating FEMALE- specific strength training methodologies and performance-enhancing techniques, we work together to build strength, endurance, and agility.

  • Elevating Performance: helping female athletes reach new heights in their athletic endeavors by fine-tuning training strategies, addressing biomechanics, and optimizing recovery protocols, we strive for consistent performance improvements and breakthrough achievements.

  • Improving Recovery: Recovery is a cornerstone of athletic success, particularly for female athletes balancing demanding training schedules with other life commitments. I provide guidance on effective recovery practices, including nutrition strategies, active recovery techniques, and stress management tools to support optimal physical and mental recovery.

  • Creating Healthy Habits and Boundaries: Beyond training and performance, I prioritize the development of SUSTAINABLE lifestyle habits that promote overall health and well-being. Together, we establish healthy boundaries around training volume, prioritize quality sleep, foster a positive relationship with food, and cultivate a resilient mindset to navigate challenges and setbacks.

  • Utilizing FEMALE-Specific Research and Data: Drawing from the latest research in areas such as strength training, fueling, recovery, sleep optimization, and hormone health, I tailor my approach to address the unique needs of female athletes. This includes considerations for menstrual cycle regulation, bone health, fertility, and body image concerns, ensuring a holistic and comprehensive coaching experience.

By integrating evidence-based practices with personalized support and guidance, my aim is to empower female athletes and active women to not only excel in their sport but also thrive in all aspects of their lives. Together, we work towards building a foundation for SUSTAINABLE success, health, and fulfillment.

My WHY for 38 years: to leave people in a better place than where I found them.

I have served the Chicagoland fitness community for the past 38 years. I was the manager of The Chicago Sweat Shop, one of Chicagos’s first aerobic studios, and my love for group exercise grew to inspire the opening of my own gym, Second Wind.

38 years later

I coach high school girls cross country and work with other female athletes and coaches to integrate elements of humanistic coaching to support the WHOLE Athlete. The interplay between mental strategies and physical abilities allows for athletes to achieve WELLbeing.

The remainder of my time I work with female clients to achieve sustainable WELLness.

My personal story and experiences surrounding body image, growing up in Title IX's infancy- experiencing discrimination in sports, along with my education and work experience, puts me in a unique position to listen and work with ATHLETES and clients.

A little about me- I  love high school and college athletics, I am more at home in the mountains than on the beach, and protecting this beautiful planet is my passion. I am a better cook than gardener - but do both. I prefer winter to summer - but love fall and spring. Pizza is my favorite food, I love music, and I dance like no one is watching!
