What is PEAC?

Performance Education for Athletes and Coaches

PEAC,  Performance Education for Athletes and Coaches, is dedicated to enhancing the performance and well-being of female athletes through specialized training and education. Our programs are designed to cater to the unique needs and experiences of female athletes, while also providing valuable insights and resources for coaches.

Our approach revolves around three main categories:

FIT (Female Integrated Training): FIT is at the core of our programs, offering tailored training regimens that address the specific requirements of female athletes. This comprehensive training module encompasses:

  • Female-Specific Strength Training: Prioritizing muscle development to optimize performance, decrease injury, improve body confidence and improve muscular skeletal health.

  • Mobility/Functional Fitness/Flexibility: Incorporating exercises to improve joint mobility, functional movement, and overall flexibility, crucial for injury prevention and peak performance.

  • Yoga/Breath Work: Integrating yoga and breathwork practices to enhance flexibility, mental focus, and relaxation, promoting holistic well-being.

  • Runner-Specific Section: Providing specialized training for runners preparing for races, focusing on endurance, speed, and race-day readiness.

EAT (Energy, Appetite, Timing): EAT emphasizes the importance of nutrition and fueling strategies tailored to the needs of female athletes. This module covers:

  • Energy: Understanding the energy demands of training and competition, and ensuring adequate fueling to support performance and recovery.

  • Appetite: Encouraging athletes to trust their instincts and listen to their bodies' hunger cues to maintain optimal nutrition intake.

  • Timing: Highlighting the significance of meal timing and nutrient distribution for maximizing performance and long-term health.

REST (Recover, Enrich, Sleep, Technology): REST focuses on holistic recovery and well-being strategies, addressing vital aspects such as:

  • Recovery: Providing athletes with tools and techniques to optimize post-training recovery, including active recovery sessions and recovery modalities.

  • Enrichment: Encouraging athletes to cultivate a balanced lifestyle with enriching activities and interests outside of training.

  • Sleep: Emphasizing the importance of quality sleep for recovery, performance, and overall health, and providing tips for improving sleep hygiene.

  • Technology: Advocating for boundaries around technology use to reduce stress, improve sleep quality, and enhance mental well-being.

At PEAC, we are committed to empowering female athletes and coaches with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to thrive. Join us in redefining the training experience for female athletes and unlocking their full potential.

SURVEY- Calling all female athletes!!

We are surveying present and/or former female high school athletes to ask questions about their experiences in sports. Targeted questions related to menstrual health, female-specific strength training programs, and/or the lack of female presence in coaching staff are all important components to this research. Your responses will contribute to a better understanding of the experiences of female high school athletes - and how these experiences can impact long-term health!
